ASEAN Economic Integration Brief Launched

JAKARTA – 30 June 2017 – The inaugural issue of the ASEAN Economic Integration Brief (AEIB) was released on 30 June 2017. The AEIB provides regular updates on ASEAN economic integration progress and outcomes. The launch of the AEIB demonstrates ASEAN’s continued communication and outreach efforts to raise stakeholder awareness of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

This inaugural issue includes a special feature article on the role of ASEAN in today’s challenging global environment by Mr Pascal Lamy, former Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and current Honorary President of the Paris-based think tank, Notre Europe.

The AEIB also features regular sections on economic outlook and select statistical indicators as well as thematic articles on issues relevant to the AEC.

The next edition of the AEIB is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The ASEAN Economic Integration Brief is produced by the ASEAN Integration Monitoring Directorate (AIMD) of the ASEAN Secretariat, with support from the EU-ASEAN Capacity Building Project for Monitoring Integration Progress and Statistics (EU-COMPASS).
